Lions' Den

Ideas with Pride

It's like TV's Dragons Den, but with a twist. We would like students to pitch their social enterprise ideas to our lions. You could be winning our £200 first prize and really innovative ideas may be supported by the Sustainability Department or by Basecamp - the university's start-up incubator.

The Lions Den is a follow on event from the Bristol Social Enterprise Conference, although you don't need to have attended the conference to participate. It will be in the Merchant Venturers building on 6th December at 6.00pm.

We have some fearsome lions of social enterprise lined up including:

Dave Jarman (Chair) - Research and Enterprise Development

Martin Wiles - Head of Sustainability at Bristol

Alan Bailey - Entrepreneur and Chair of Low Carbon Southwest

Wendy Stephenson - CEO of The Converging World

Elaine Flint - Director of Social Enterprise Works

Impress them and you could walk away with the prize money of £200 and an idea that could well have caught the eye of one of the Lions for further development. Your idea will be judged by a panel of business professionals and social entrepreneurs.

There is a workshop on Monday 28th November to help get you thinking more about your idea and how to pitch. The next day will be the deadline to submit your idea, then you will hear if you have the chance to face the Lions. If you would like to participate in the Lions' Den submit the form below below to lionsden@bristolhub.org by Tuesday 29th November.
